Below is the data for Kane County IL for the month of March. The number of homes sold are slightly lower in St. Charles & Geneva than in March 2017, but a lot of that can be attributed to the weather and rising rates. I expect these numbers to balance out once the summer selling season begins. In certain segments we are still seeing price declines, especially with the more expensive homes with high taxes. Homes in St. Charles, Batavia, and especially Geneva IL under $400,000 are selling very quickly, this has created inventory shortages in this particular price range. Townhomes and especially first floor master suites are still selling relatively well. We will continue to monitor all these trends and give the proper advice to our clients as the year goes along.
