The award winning park district preserves over 1,500 acres of parks, walking and hiking trails, facilities (Pottawatomie Golf Course--designed by Robert Trent Jones), and park district classes for all ages. Every interest is covered--including disc golf and miniature golf!
The town has many different events and festivals throughout the year...The Scarecrow Festival, Pride of the Fox River Fest (with Dragon boat races), Christmas parade, St. Patrick's Day Parade, Art Festival, and Fun Runs to name just a few.
Antique markets, small boutique shops, and larger chain franchises, such as Costco, are also offered in this town. Also noted for "award winning schools," and won The Family Circle Magazine award for #1 Town or City For Families (There was a total of ten with many categories such as affordable housing, public school system, giving spirit, etc.) in 2011.
