Here is the 2019 Year End Report from the MLS for the Fox Valley and surrounding areas...Year-To Date sale of homes is down in most towns from 2018 to 2019...However, there was a LARGE flurry of buying in the end of November through  now, which will close in 2020.

Interest rates are stable and sometimes dipping daily (so keep in touch with your mortgage broker or banker, if interested in purchasing this Spring) for a short time. The lesser sales in 2019 could have been due to a shortage of inventory in certain towns and prices compared to 2018...You can see in December that the increase in  sales is up dramatically from Year-to-date statistics, which should point to a promising Spring sales season.
The median sales price is dependent on how many sales and the price the sellers took for their homes. Buyers typically purchased their homes for 98% of the asking price. Prices up slightly in 2019, and would anticipate a modest increase in new Spring prices. Single family homes presented 83% of buyers and 6% bought townhomes.  Senior housing down 12% with 29% buying condos, town homes, or row houses.28% of home buyers last year made NO compromises when purchasing a home in regards to pricing, condition, and size of home.
